Tuch and Bogen – Roman Signer

Ebeltoft, 2009

When Kvadrat commissioned Swiss artist Roman Signer to create site-specific art using Kvadrat textiles he embarked on two extraordinary time sculptures; ‘Tuch’ and ‘Bogen’. Bogen involved attaching 100m of Air 4 fabric to a large rocket before firing it skywards. This created a bow that momentarily filled the sky before floating back to earth. For Tuch, a 4x6m length of Air 4 was shot straight up into the air. This was described by the artist as creating a; ‘Free hanging theatre curtain that covers the landscape for a moment.’
