Pelargonie – Tina Ratzer

Holbæk, Denmark, 2012

In 2012, Kvadrat sponsored the textiles for a canvas-weaving artwork created by Danish designer Tina Ratzer for the courthouse at Holbæk, Denmark. Entitled ‘Pelargonie’, this takes the form of a patchwork flower in a flowerpot.

The work, which is closely integrated with the architecture of the building, combines painting and pictorial weaving: whilst the flowerpot is painted, squares of stretched fabric strips comprise the flower. These are made from various Kvadrat, FANNYARONSEN and Maharam textiles.
