See what you’ve made me do – Miriam Bäckström

Paris, France, 2012

For Kvadrat’s Paris showroom, Swedish-born artist Miriam Bäckström has created a permanent installation entitled ‘See what you’ve made me do’. This comprises eight, overlapping rectangular Phillips luminous textile panels which have been developed in collaboration with Kvadrat Soft Cells. The panels form an interactive machine, which captures and recomposes images and sounds from its surroundings into an interactive film.

Intriguingly, the installation reacts to movement, voice, temperature and speed, while offering a novel way to interact with technology: the viewer is both actor and director in the performance it displays.
