The picnic – Raw-Edges Design Studio

Stockholm, 2013

The picnic featured a massive wooden structure designed by London-based Raw-Edges for Kvadrat’s stand during Stockholm Furniture Fair. The space consisted of two main elements: The Dinesen Douglas Fir structure and 1,500 textile strips, which were suspended from the ceiling.

The impressive textile installation resembled vertical roof tiles and created a three dimensional volume. Functioning as a space divider, the strips were inspired by weeping willow trees, creating an intimate space within the big exhibition hall.
