The Wool Parade – Doshi Levien

Stockholm, 2013

To set focus on the unique qualities and inherent characteristics of wool, Kvadrat commissioned acclaimed design studio Doshi Levien to create a playful installation consisting of 12 upholstered objects heavily inspired by avant-garde parties and architectural theatre costumes from the early Bauhaus period.

The peculiar and ambiguously formed objects challenge perception with their hollow volumes that initially appear to be abstract geometric elements. As the viewer moves around the installation, the characterful objects align momentarily, providing fleeting glimpses of sartorial characters in space.
