Riverbed – Olafur Eliasson

Humlebæk, 2014

Olafur Eliasson’s giant site specific stone landscape, Riverbed, which unfolds throughout the South Wing of Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, invites visitors to not only be at the exhibition, but also in the exhibition.

Part of the exhibition referred to as, ‘The model room’, shows one kind of beginning – the model in which the world stands still for a moment. In the museum’s Hall Gallery, where nearly 500 metres of Kvadrat curtain textile Campas have been used to create a cinema, visitors are received into its physically unfolding flow: a variety of experiences, a variety of modes of presence, all with a sensory impact.

Olafur Eliasson’s exhibition will be an enhancement of our gaze at the museum, at ourselves and at the world.
