LEED

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognised green building certification system. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators with a framework for identifying and implementing green building design, construction, operations and maintenance.

LEED works on a point scoring system. Buildings are assessed on a number of issues and ‘credits’ are available for specific levels of performance. The overall number of credits obtained determines the final LEED score, which results in a rating: LEED certified, LEED silver, LEED gold or the highest rating, LEED platinum.
