Patricia Urquiola

Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo in Spain and now lives and works in Milan. She attended the School of Architecture at Madrid Polytechnic from where she graduated in 1989. In 2001 Patricia Urquiola opened her own office in Milan, working on product design, architecture, installations and concept creation. Today, she is one of the most influential and successful international designers, winning numerous design awards. Urquiola works with many Italian and global design brands including Moroso and Cassina.

In 2010 Urquiola designed, in collaboration with Giulio Ridolfo, The Dwelling Lab, an installation for Kvadrat and BMW at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile. The Revolving Room, an installation presented in 2013, celebrated Urquiola’s first textile design for Kvadrat, presented on her new and existing products for Moroso.
