Katrin Greiling’s designs are directly influenced by her time spent travelling and working in different cultures around the world. Having graduated from Konstfack in Stockholm in 2005, she opened Studio Greiling in the capital before embarking on a three-year research and development trip to Dubai in 2007, where she worked as interior architect, furniture designer and photographer.

Katrin Greiling’s daybed is a shelter for the traveler, a space to temporarily seek solitary comforts, to hide, relax, sleep and reflect. Its tent-like structure pays homage to the traveling Bedouin tribesmen, whose lifestyle has long embraced this cosy, yet highly flexible residence. 

Hallingdal 65 is used as a cover for the mattress as well as the roof. Supported by a metal structure, the roof can be adjusted with ropes to form an open or closed space.

About Katrin Greiling

Munich-born Katrin Greiling is an industrial designer, interior architect and photographer. She holds an MFA in Interior Architecture & Furniture Design from Konstfack, University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm.

After graduating, she set up Studio Grieling in Stockholm, which is where she works today. Her designs reflect influences from the time she has spent travelling and working in different cultures around the world.
