Birches evokes the still yet vibrant beauty of a Scandinavian silver birch forest. Semi-transparent, the curtain features a rotation print, which causes the dyes to penetrate the material deeply. This increasingly rare technique softens its look and creates an even, smooth coloured back side.
Woven from flame retardant polyester, Birches features a crisp ground with imprinted organic lines, which appear to almost melt into the material. The lines interact with the flamed yarns in vertical and horizontal directions, capturing a sense of organic progress over time.
The delicate colours that comprise Birches’ colour scale create a vibrant polarising dialogue with the curtain's pattern. In the neutral hue, the printed lines contrast with the white ground, whereas when the ground is in pastel shades, the lines remain white.

LightFastness {{site.selectedConfiguration.lightFastness}}
ISO 105-B02
Lightfastness relates to the ability of a textile to retain its colour under light. When testing for lightfastness, samples are exposed to artificial daylight for a specified period.
The evaluation scale ranges from 1 (worst) to 8 (best). An increase of one point corresponds to a doubling of the lightfastness, i.e. the same fading takes twice as long.

Flame retardant performance depends on the type of foam used. There are differing requirements concerning the flame-retardancy of textiles dependent on the area of application, country or even region. Our textiles pass the majority of international standards and are also tested for a selection of regional requirements.

Typologies
Unfolding the diversity and potential of our Residential collection.
Classified as four styles with matching interior scenarios and colour concepts, Typologies illustrates how shifting perspectives can reinvent the familiar.
The Purist. The Eclectic. The Optimist. The Metropolitan.
Regular cleaning is important in order to keep the curtain textile looking its best and to prolong its life. Dust and dirt wear down the textile and also reduce its fire-retardant properties.

Regular care
If possible, we recommend washing curtains once a year. If used heavily, a more frequent cleaning may be appropriate. All curtain fabrics by Kvadrat and Sahco are supplied with a care label. We recommend the use of detergent without optical bleach for all items in which, according to care instructions, washing is possible. Please take into account a possible shrinkage between 1–4 %. It is always possible to wash at a lower temperature that the one specified for light soiling. Please contact a professional dry cleaner if dry cleaning is the only option for maintenance. A professional dry cleaner may also assist in working out maintenance schedules which ensure that the fabrics are maintained properly so that a good indoor climate and maximum duration of the curtains are achieved.
