Chateau Royal offers 93 guest rooms, each designed by a different artist, and Grill Royal, an exclusive club-like restaurant. Every element at the boutique hotel reflects the theme of Berlin, including the Kvadrat curtains specified throughout the venue.

The interior concept is characterised by individuality, premium materials, and colours with roots in Berlin's storied history, like the famous "Schinkel Blue". Twilight and Trace in the guest rooms and Flint and Noon, which hang in social spaces on the ground floor, embody this approach.

Together the curtains contribute towards a warm, cosmopolitan environment that recalls the city during the Gründerzeit industrialisation period of the 1910s and 1920s. They also evoke the spirit of artistic expression shaping the experience of the hotel. For instance, some of the curtains crafted from Twilight feature embroidery designed by one of the artists.

Irina Kromayer, architect: "We like to go off the beaten track with trends. For our Château Royal project, we wanted to use colours from turn-of-the-century Berlin, Art Nouveau and the 1920s without slipping into a retro look. The classic yet modern, high-quality textiles from Kvadrat, with their individuality and outstanding colour palettes, helped us a lot in realising this concept."

The hotel consists of two listed houses, built in 1850 and 1910, and a new building by David Chipperfield. The diverse guest rooms are conceived by a spectrum of leading artists and designers, including long-time collaborators with Kvadrat, such as Thomas Demand, Danh Vo and Peter Savile.
