Local architects and gastronomists Sascha Arnold, Niels Jäger and Steffen Werner have chosen Kvadrat textiles for all guestrooms and bar at the Flushing Meadows Hotel & Bar. This occupies the top two floors of a former post office, built during the 1970s.
Located in Glockenbach, one of Munich’s most vibrant districts, the Flushing Meadows Hotel overlooks the lively neighborhood - you can even see the Alps from the southern rooftop terrace on a good day. It is decorated to provide a sense of spontaneity and intimacy to attract guests who appreciate attention to detail, design and personalised service.
The top floor has five variously sized penthouse studios, equipped with stained solid wood, textile-covered walls and copper detailing. It is also home to the rooftop bar, which matches the spacious industrial style of the private rooms.
On the floor below, there are 11 light-filled, eclectic studios that have been created in collaboration with personalities from a variety of creative disciplines. These include music, cinema, design, sports and art.
Solution
In the penthouse studios and the bar, Air 4 and custom-made Sandvally are used for sheers and blackout curtains. Casa is applied on wall panels to ensure a warm atmosphere and good acoustic condition. Various textiles including Gymer, Haakon, Harald, Prato and Tokyo are upholstered on assorted furniture. In the loft studios, a special version of Casa, Casa Tight and Sandvally are used for curtains, while Canal is used for bedspreads.
