Making a splash

Virgin Voyages has integrated a scale of Kvadrat upholsteries and curtains into four pioneering cruise ships: Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady and Brilliant Lady. The award-winning vessels aim to redefine the experience of luxurious sea journeys.

The ships’ interiors are inspired by superyacht design. In the sailor cabins, custom versions of the Kvadrat upholsteries Clara and Field are used on the sofas and beds alongside custom versions of the wardrobe curtains Zulu and Sheer, and the blackout curtain Noir.

Elsewhere on the vessels, assorted Kvadrat textiles are incorporated into different feature venues, which are designed to offer guests tranquil yet subtly exhilarating atmospheres.

Importantly, the textiles are specified to help ensure each vessel offers an individual experience. So, for example, Clara is chosen for Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady while Field is selected for Resilient Lady and Brilliant Lady.

Dee Cooper: "Collaborating with Kvadrat throughout our design journey has been instrumental to the success of our sailor cabins and the feature venues around our lady ships!"

The lady ships have helped Virgin Voyages to win several prestigious awards, including the Cruise Critic Cruisers' Choice Awards in 2023 and Condé Nast Traveler Reader's Choice Awards in 2022.

Sailing across oceans across the world, the lady ships are exclusively for adults. They offer a range of experiences, from restaurants with Michelin-star curated menus to state-of-the-art gyms.
