Sofie Brünner | Chroma
Curated by Søren Rose
Sofie Brünner trained at Central Saint Martins in London, the Royal Danish School of Design and over several years of employment with interior design companies before setting up her own multi-disciplinary design studio in Copenhagen.
Taking a close up look at the tightly woven Hallingdal fabric reveals many different squares of colour. Blown up to huge proportions these details can become dramatic graphics.
Chroma is an exploration of Hallingdal’s different hues and how they mix when they are chromatically woven together. A celebration of colour, texture and contrasts captured in a vessel-like structure, it is made from Scandinavian timber painted in contrasting colours.
About Sofie Brünner
Sofie Brünner is a Danish multidisciplinary designer whose output covers furniture, interiors and trend forecasting. Her design work is very much based on colour, surface manipulation and construction. This, together with her love of woven materials and tactile approach, reflects the fact that, before attending the Royal Danish School of Design, she specialised in weaving when studying textile design at Central Saint Martins in London.
