Soft Cells Broadline and Aesthetic panels by Kvadrat Acoustics upholstered in Ginger and Glaciaro - fitted on the walls of two conference rooms and the restaurant, and the entry hall ceiling
Crisp and Clear
At the refurbished art deco building in Munich that hosts IHK Industrie- und Handelskammer, a custom Soft Cells solution by Kvadrat Acoustics is specified to elevate acoustic and aesthetic quality. The acoustic Soft Cells panels are installed on walls and ceilings.
In the conference rooms, an acoustic solution comprising Soft Cells panels are arranged on the walls in a grid of geometric forms. To deliver a uniform sensory experience, they curve around the large windows and seamlessly integrate elements such as fire escape doors.
The acoustic Soft Cells panels in the restaurant are fitted over the kitchen and the food service area. Critically, they enhance the intelligibility of speech, meeting the acoustic challenge of the stone floor and the other hard surfaces that characterise the room.
In the entry hall, the Soft Cells panels fill recesses in the ceiling. They elegantly hide building services, including speakers. As in the restaurant, they counteract reverberation from a stone floor to deliver a comfortable acoustic environment.
Ginger and Glaciaro are the two textiles specified for the Kvadrat Acoustics solution, which comprises Soft Cells Broadline and Aesthetic acoustic panels. By choosing these fabrics, the architects were able to meet the building’s stringent fire safety standards.
