Steelcut 3

Steelcut 3 is an evolution of the archetypal woollen upholstery textile Steelcut. The textile enriches the previous palette with 19 new additional colour variations. The expansive colour scale by Giulio Ridolfo explores a new way to blend deep reds, violets and greens. It is inspired by still images he took on his travels in Mexico and his deep admiration of collages by Henri Matisse.

Steelcut 3 derives its distinctive colour dynamism from the dialogue between its yarn construction and the combination of different colours nuances in the range. The result is a textile with unusual richness, sense of movement, and mutability, combining vivid floral hues and different eathy notes to create vibrant harmonies.

The warm, elegant colour scales by colour master Giulio Ridolfo are inspired by a variety of sources, including his life in Italy, still images he took on his travels, and art. The textile has a distinctive colour dynamism, offering exceptional clarity and colour depth.

Steelcut 3 new colourways are the result of a versatile selection of 'intertones' that explore colours associated with the ground or the sky by harmonising vivid floral hues and earthy notes.
