Erste Campus has been the headquarters for Erste Group since 2016. Built on the site of the former Südbahnhof railway station, it provides a single location for all the Group’s staff in Vienna. The curving architecture by Henke Architects creates an urban cityscape characterised by openness and transparency. It reflects the project concept, which was conceived to create an atmosphere that feels inviting and in touch with nature.
Erste Campus comprises four volumes. These can be retrospectively tailored to changing work processes or business areas without structural alterations. Furthermore, the buildings are designed to be barrier-free throughout. Erste Campus has been audited by the Austrian Society for Sustainable Real Estate (ÖGNI) as part of certifying the complex under the DGNB (sustainable building certification) system, and awarded the highest level of distinction, namely the DGNB Gold.
Kinzo, the interior architects, have selected Canvas, Hallingdal 65, Alloy, Remix, Divina Melange and Memory for the project. They are used for furniture, desk panels and lamp shades in the work spaces to create soft, tactile surfaces. In addition, the textiles have been applied to benches, chairs and lounge furniture in the public spaces and the canteen. In total, approximately 8000 meters of Kvadrat textiles have been used.
