Vision

 

The Los Angeles showroom builds on a concept that Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec created for Kvadrat’s flagship showrooms in Copenhagen, Denmark and Stockholm, Sweden.

A wooden E-shaped house incorporates work zones on its top level and a social area at its heart, with meeting rooms on the ground floor. Bold textile panels, featuring a unique graphic knitted design created by Erwan Bouroullec for the space adorn the walls.

 

A new textile

To design the new knitted textile for the panels, Erwan Bouroullec explored coding and wrote bespoke weaving software. Throughout the creative and production process, he worked closely with Kvadrat Febrik. He enjoys a long-standing collaboration with the brand, which is part-owned by Kvadrat.

Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec
 

Renowned French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have made a significant impact on the world of design since they began working together in 1997.

Their globally acclaimed work includes furniture and product design, interior design, architectural projects, and the development of conceptual objects. The Bouroullec brothers’ work is characterised by its simplicity, originality and completeness. They focus on achieving balance and finesse in their work and have a relentless commitment to quality.

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have worked with Kvadrat since 2006. During this time, they have designed a number of visionary products for the company such as Clouds, North Tiles, Ready Made Curtain, Roller Blinds, several textiles and a rug. Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have also designed a number of showrooms for Kvadrat. Notably, the company’s previous and current flagship showrooms in Copenhagen and Stockholm.

 

Clouds

Designed by the internationally acclaimed designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Clouds is an innovative, interlocking fabric tile concept for the home. Made from one element and attached with special rubber bands, they can be installed to a wall or hung from a ceiling. Clouds evolves as you add elements to it, producing aunique three-dimensional effect. Inspired by the inviting look and feel of the surface, it is possible to construct your own piece and make your vision reality. Self-expression lies at the heart of the appeal of Clouds.

Kvadrat Shade

Kvadrat Shade offers an aesthetically outstanding, versatile roller blind solution, leveraging Kvadrat’s leadership in textile and design innovation. Crafted in collaboration with Coulisse, the global leading supplier of window covering products and metallised fabric specialist Verosol, and creative talents, this enables architects to complete any design theme and optimise visual, acoustic or thermal comfort – or a combination of all three. Reflecting a commitment to longevity, simplicity and premium-quality materials, the Kvadrat Shade hardware is designed by Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec, while Kvadrat is responsible for the design and production of the textiles.

Ready Made Curtain

Ready Made Curtain by Kvadrat offers a flexible and easy-to-install curtain system with a personal touch. Ready Made Curtain brings together all elements required to create individual design curtains: hanging mechanism and cord, pegs and a selection of Kvadrat textiles. The concept allows to choose from these elements separately, providing a multitude of possible configurations. Whether a combination in subtle tones and natural finishes or something more bold and colourful is desired, Ready Made Curtain can be freely combined to suit one's individual taste.
