Pretty in pink

Really Rococo by Swedish designer Ebba Lindgren incorporates a table, stool and vase crafted from the material custom made version of Really Textile Board from Malmö Upcycling Service. She created the pieces for an exhibition curated by Malmö Upycling Service.

Initially, Ebba Lindgren set out to find the perfect blend of practicality, sustainability, and an over-the-top aesthetic. Reflecting this approach, the Really Rococo furniture is assembled without screws and glue and can be easily disassembled and reassembled.

The character of Really Textile Board infuses the designs with tactility and visual impact. The upcycled material ensures the furniture feels both hard and soft and has precise yet rugged edges.

At the same time, the Really Textile Board makes it easy to shape and construct the furniture. It is simple to cut, and its subtly textured surface ensures the different elements fit together especially tightly.

Ebba Lindgren: "The Really Rococo table, stool and vase are loosely inspired by asymmetric rococo curves — historically incorrect, but just as decadent. With expressive shapes to lure the self-proclaimed royals and upcycled materials to soothe consumers in crisis. It's Versailles all over!"

Really Rococo has been exhibited in diverse arenas, including 3 Days of Design, Swedish Embassy, Copenhagen, Southern Sweden Design Days, Malmö, Collectible Design Fair, Brussels, Venice Design Biennial, Cowgirl Gallery, Malmö, and Stockholm Creative Edition, Stockholm.

Ebba Lindgren's design practice is artistic and concept-driven. By letting big and extravagant ideas take up space in small contexts, Lindgren has created an approach to design that is smart, desire-driven, and unconventional. She works with interiors, makes one-of-a-kind objects, and curates immersive installations in overseen places like locker rooms, kiosks, and even her own home. Lindgren has an MFA in industrial design from Lund University and has studied at the Emily Carr School of Art in Vancouver.
