Anthem by Wu Tsang

‘Anthem’ by Wu Tsang is an exhibition conceived in close collaboration with singer, composer, and transgender activist Beverly Glenn-Copeland.

Harnessing the Guggenheim’s cathedral-like acoustics to construct what Tsang calls a “sonic sculptural space”, the site-specific installation revolves around an immense, eighty-four-foot curtain sculpture suspended from the oculus.

Improvising and singing passages of his music, a film-portrait of Glenn-Copeland is projected onto the elegant light sheer curtain textile Powder.

Proudly supported by Kvadrat the exhibition is on view at Guggenheim until 6 September 2021.
